Shihan Dr. Anthony Palminteri
Dr. Palminteri began his “hand to hand” combat training in the U.S. Army in 1959 and developed proficiency in Hatchet throwing. After his military discharge in 1962, he entered the jujitsu dojo of Michael DePasquale Sr. where I studied hakko-ryu jujitsu 35 years. He attained the rank of First degree black belt in 1972. He continued to study, train and teach at DePasquale’s Dojo until 1997 when after many degrees of black belt attained the rank of Shihan (8th degree black) and received the high rank of purple belt. Shihan is defined as “master teacher”.
In 1986, Dr. Palminteri began training police officers at the Bergen County Police Academy in 1986 and has taught over 2000 police officers in basic unarmed self defense and defensive tactics. He still conducts the classes at the academy to this day.
Professional education consists of BS from Queens College, NY and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 1957. Became board certified in Veterinary surgery in 1968.
He is currently the CEO of the Oradell Animal Hospital located in Paramus, NJ.
